Most sellers call this a "steam brush." It isn't, and that's the point. There's no heating element inside, so there's nothing that can burn a nose, an ear, or your hand — and nothing to wait for while it warms up. Press and it sprays, cold, instantly. On a warm Indian afternoon most cats settle into it faster than a dry brush.

Is this actually steam?
No — and that's deliberate. There's no heating element inside. It sprays a cool mist at room temperature, so there's nothing that can burn your pet's nose, ears or your hand, andnothing to wait for while it heats up. Press the button and it spraysinstantly.
How much fur does it actually remove?
It removes fur that's already loose, which during a moult is a great deal. What the mist changes is where that fur ends up: damp hair clumps onto the bristle pad instead of floating onto your furniture and clothes. It will not stop your pet shedding — nothing does — but it moves the fur into the bin instead of the sofa.
What should I put in the tank?
Plain or filtered water for everyday use. Hard tap water leaves mineral deposits that eventually clog the nozzle. You can add a little pet-safe detangler or deodoriser between baths. Never use human shampoo or essential oils — several, tea tree especially, are toxic to cats.
How often should I use it?
Once or twice a week suits most coats. Daily is fine during a heavy moult, but there's no benefit to over-brushing — you'll irritate the skin before you remove more fur.
Is it waterproof? Can I use it in the bath?
Keep it out of the water. It's a dry-groom tool with a spray tank, not a bath brush — the body houses a motor and a battery. Wipe the bristle pad clean under a tap if you need to, but don't submerge it.
